The CSDF will be hosting the French National Championships on April 19 – 21, 2024, at Lower Canada College in Montreal. Click on “Debate in Canada” and the “French National Championships” for more info.

Year-End Charitable Donations
As the end of the year closes in, time is running out on tax deductible donations. About 25% of Canadians take advantage of the sizeable benefits Canadian Federal and Provincial governments offer to Canadians who give to registered Canadian charities. These tax incentives are significant, amounting to as much as 53% of your charitable donation. For many Canadians, it’s by leveraging these tax benefits that they can give more generously to charities. It makes them feel good and with their larger gift, it enables charities they support to do more. Now, that’s a good thing. At the Canadian Student Debating Federation, the needs for programing for our youth continue to increase. Please consider keeping us in mind as you make your end-of-year donation. Accolades for Debate in Manitoba
The CSDF’s board member Michael Macaraeg was honoured in Manitoba for his outreach in Debate programs. Across the country, members of the CSDF have been partaking in outreach programs since the late ’60s; it is encouraging and humbling to have one of our board members rightfully congratulated. This year, Michael Macaraeg received the Willis McLeese Award from his province for his work in growing debate in Morden, Manitoba and his work on a spectacular CSDF National Seminar in 2019.
